The role of the foster carer

As well as the day-to-day care foster carers provide to the children and young people in their care, they are also expected to attend meetings, complete paperwork and work with a range of professionals involved in the child/ young person’s life.

  • Promoting good health and hygiene.
  • Keeping a track of their journey with you.
  • Supporting them in their relationships with people that are important to them, including their parents, grandparents, aunties/ uncles, other family members and friends.
